The new drama Smash follows the making of a Broadway musical production based on the life of Marilyn Monroe. Former American Idol contestant Katharine McPhee (pictured) and Megan Hilty (9 to 5: The Musical) play rival would-be stars of the show. Here, Smash make-up department head Persefone Karakosta shares what she used to create a Marilyn look on McPhee for a promotional photo.
Smash airs Monday evenings on NBC.
