In Eat Pray Love, Julia Roberts plays a New York City-based travel writer who embarks on a year of self-discovery overseas after her marriage crumbles. Roberts’ make-up artist, Richard Dean, created a big-city look for Roberts for the film’s opening scenes; later, as she traveled to Rome, India and Bali, "all the original make-up materials were reassembled in various combinations and degrees to express her immersion in each culture," Dean said.
