Like Judy Chin, Kyra Panchenko was a veteran of the Sex and the City TV series, during which she worked with actress Kim Cattrall. And, like Chin, Panchenko likened the movie make-up experience to a family reunion—with a really big family. “It got very crowded when they would call for last look,” she said. “You’d have 10 hair and make-up people rush in for four girls sitting around a coffee table.” Panchenko’s work extended beyond Cattrall’s face; she also created body paint for the star, who plays the flamboyant public relations executive Samantha. “For Kim’s beautiful glow on her arms and legs, I developed a body shimmer that tones and firms,” she said. “It’s called City Girl, by Kyra Panchenko for Rio Blush.” She also worked closely with the director of photography to make sure Cattrall was shot in the most flattering light. “The biggest key for women is lighting,” she said.
