Imagine a make-up trailer filled with beautiful women, walls papered with inspiring photos from European editions of Vogue and 16-hour days and you have an idea of what it’s like to work on Lipstick Jungle, an NBC prime-time drama about three women’s personal and professional lives. It’s based on Candace Bushnell’s book of the same name.
“There is a lot of collaboration on set,” said Lipstick Jungle make-up artist Sheri Kornhaber. “Once you see hair and wardrobe, it’s hard not to be inspired.”
Products Kornhaber can’t live without on set include Shiseido’s Clé de Peau skincare line. “It makes skin so dewy,” she said. She also loves M.A.C.’s eye shadow and crazy mix of colors, which she calls a staple for all make-up artists. And she has learned to tailor products specifically to the show’s three leading ladies. “Brooke Shields has watery eyes and we had to find something that would work on her,” Kornhaber said. “Kiss Me Mascara is silicone based–it forms tubes on eyelashes. You put it on and it will never smudge.”
