As the stylish host of Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance, Cat Deeley often changes outfits during the course of one episode. Her busy schedule has her personal make-up artist, Amy Strozzi, racing the clock.
“On this day [in 2011], which was our [Season 8] finale, (which is live with no possibility of lateness), our daytime schedule ran over so much that we had the least amount of time to get Cat ready that we have ever had in seven seasons. For me that meant pulling out a fail-safe, no-nonsense, ‘I can get this done quickly and it will still look amazing’ look.
“I love Cat in shades of bronze with emphasis on great skin and a brown-based eye. Brown is a great way to play with a heavy eye look while not being as serious as black. It will still make your eyes and lashes pop and after it melts into your skin a bit it is much more forgiving (and easier to maintain) than black kohl. I prefer to use warm browns, especially on someone with Cat’s coloring…[To achieve a similar effect,] use a soft kohl eye liner in a warm coffee brown to line the inside of your tear line, as well as to smudge into your lashes, and you will instantly have sexier eyes that can be worn day or night.”
Editor’s note: So You Think You Can Dance Season 9 was in full swing at press time.
